Be Scam Aware
Internet scams are increasing, particularly in the financial sector. Here is what to remember if you are solicited by someone claiming to act on behalf of Legal & General or Legal & General Investment Management.
- We will not solicit clients or individual investors directly and do not offer investment advice.
- We no longer accept new customer applications for Bonds, ISAs, Junior ISAs, General Investment Accounts. Should you be contacted by someone claiming to represent Legal & General or Legal & General Investment Management to sell you one of these products, it is likely to be a scam. Existing customers can continue to invest in our fund range.
- Be aware of unsolicited calls, emails or letters offering unusually profitable investment opportunities. Fraudsters may be using this time of economic uncertainty to launch new investment scams. use official sources for information, such as home pages of firms purporting to offer the investment and avoid following links embedded in unsolicited email communications. Exercise extra caution when it sounds too good to be true.
- Fraudsters have sent emails to members of the public claiming to represent Fidelity regarding bogus fixed rate savings & investment opportunities. The email makes reference to a transfer from Legal & General and encourages people to call a number not belonging to Fidelity or Legal & General. If you receive a similar email, please treat with caution and contact Legal & General on the official telephone number below.
